Why we Love Sherwin Williams 2020 Color of the Year

When it comes to home staging, paint color has a huge impact on a home’s appeal and on prospective home buyers. For the last decade (and maybe longer) the trend in our industry has always been to keep the paint color palette neutral in a home so as to appeal to the most buyers possible.

This still holds true – for the most part – but as one of the leading home staging companies in Cananda our staging designs often set trends in our area, and we have been slowly infusing more color and texture into our staging designs in the last five years. And most recently, we have started using bold pops of navy in our designs.

We love navy for many reasons, as home stagers. First, and most importantly, it’s a color that infuses a deep rich hue into a space to instantly make it feel cozier and more appealing. When balanced with creams, wood tones and pops of metallic … the effect is stunning to say the least.

Navy is bold, warm & a dramatic color that is perfect for creating spaces that sell.

Navy is a versatile color. It can create highly elegant spaces when mixed with the right furnishings and decor. It also is a soothing color, so infusing it into a bedroom instantly makes that space feel and look like a room you can’t wait to curl up in it. Navy is dramatic and memorable so it helps make a home more marketable & memorable – two things that are very important when a home is up for sale.

Navy is perfect for any space and can create everything from an elegant space to a rustic, casual room.

And let’s face it, blue is one of those colors that just works when it comes to staging. It’s classic. It goes with virtually any design style and a little pop of navy adds a dramatic pop to virtually any space.

So it comes as no surprise to us, that Sherwin William’s color of the year for 2020 is Naval. We love this particular paint color and have used it on many staging projects over the years. It’s rich, bold & beautiful which makes it a perfect fit for many of our designs.

Whether you use it for a focal wall or as the key color in a space, navy is sure to add drama, warmth & flair to your room.
